1. What is SpyBuddy?
SpyBuddy is a powerful monitoring and surveillance
software package. SpyBuddy allows you to monitor
your PC while you are not around. Currently,
SpyBuddy has the ability to log all AOL/ICQ/MSN/AIM/Yahoo
internet chat conversations, websites visited,
keystrokes pressed, applications ran, windows
opened, text/images sent to the clipboard, and
printed documents. With SpyBuddy's powerful stealth
feature, you can turn SpyBuddy into your own
personal desktop sleuth and record everything
that happens!
2. I run SpyBuddy, but nothing happens.
What's wrong?
If you run the spybuddy.exe module, and find
that no program executes, it is VERY likely that
you have configured SpyBuddy to run in total
stealth mode. To take SpyBuddy out of stealth
mode, you will need to simultaneously press the
correct key sequence to bring SpyBuddy out of
stealth mode. If you do not remember this key
sequence, please contact the support department.
3. Once SpyBuddy is actively monitoring,
who has access to it?
Once SpyBuddy is monitoring a machine, only
you have the power to stop it from monitoring.
Because SpyBuddy requires a password to start/stop
the monitoring process, no one will be able to
start or stop SpyBuddy at their leisure - unless
you give out your personalized SpyBuddy password
to another user.
Note: If SpyBuddy is running
in stealth mode, only you will be able to access
it, as it will be completely hidden. To take
SpyBuddy out of stealth mode, you will need to
use the appropriate key sequence.
4. I can not rename SpyBuddy! What is
wrong?
This simply means that you cannot rename spybuddy.exe
because it is running already. To stop SpyBuddy
from running, you will have to manually close
it. To do this, simply end the monitoring process
and hit the "X" on the main SpyBuddy interface
window. Once you have closed SpyBuddy, you can
freely rename the spybuddy.exe module without
receiving any errors!
5. What Operating Systems is SpyBuddy
compatible with?
SpyBuddy will work across all Windows platforms.
This includes Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP!
6. I am not receiving the SpyBuddy logs
via e-mail. What's wrong?
If you are not receiving your e-mail delivery
logs, you may have specified the wrong SMTP Host
inside the SMTP Mail Delivery configuration screen,
or you mis-typed your e-mail address. Double
check your SMTP Mail Settings inside SpyBuddy,
and if the problem persists, you may need to
consult your system administrator or ISP for
your SMTP Host.
7. I choose to install SpyBuddy without
an UnInstaller and now I want to uninstall
SpyBuddy. How can I go about doing this?
If you installed SpyBuddy without an uninstaller,
you can simply locate the SpyBuddy files in Windows
Explorer and delete them manually. To ensure
the files are completely deleted, make sure SpyBuddy
is NOT running.
8. I tell SpyBuddy to run in stealth
mode when Windows boots up, but the SpyBuddy
interface pops up...help!
This is very easy to fix. Simply navigate to
the General tab (inside the General Confguration
dialog) and set the following options:
- Startup With Windows
- Run SpyBuddy in Stealth Mode
- Start in Active Monitoring Mode
By setting these options, the SpyBuddy interface
will NOT appear when your PC boots up!
